Una cosa da tenere in massima considerazione nella scelta di una stufa a pellet è la facilità della manutenzione. La pulizia frequente dei condotti, del braciere, dello scambiatore e del cassetto della cenere garantisce sempre la massima efficienza e la lunga durata del prodotto.

Normalmente, la potenza necessaria per scaldare 200 m³ è pari a 15 kW; il potere calorico del pellet di buona qualità  è pari a 5,5 - 6 kW (1 kg). Il consumo a pieno regime è pari quindi a 2,6 kg/h di pellet e il costo è di soli 0,5-0,6 euro/h circa. Il prezzo poi, è completamente indipendente dai rialzi costanti del petrolio e del gas naturale, perchè i pellet sono una fonte energetica locale, sempre a portata di mano.
